Chicago Compliance Officer Overview:

The Chicago Compliance Officer shall work to ensure all procurement practices comply with all internal and external rules and regulations governing the facility. For this job, the Chicago Compliance officer will develop and distribute a manual of policies and procedures for procurement personnel in the facility. The Compliance Officer shall lead or assist in all review, assessments, and audits of the procurement policies.

  • The Chicago Compliance officer will communicate regularly with the legal department on the subject of subcontracts.
  • Ensure all agreements comply with internal and external regulations.
  • Serve as a liaison for procurement personnel on administrative matters.
  • The Chicago Compliance Officer will suggest and assist in creating metrics to measure the department’s effectiveness.
  • Communicate regularly with regulatory organizations on the subject of procurement.
  • Regularly review the procurement department, and ensure all practices comply with internal and external regulations.
  • The Chicago Compliance officer will evaluate facts and develop plans to solve problems as the arise. Investigate issues to identify their cause, plan and lead trainings to correct systematic problems as necessary.
  • Notify personnel of actions that need to be corrected. Ensure that errors are corrected and the cause is mitigated.
  • With assistance from the management team, create, suggest, enact, and oversee the policies for the procurement department.
  • The Chicago Compliance Officer will create a manual on procurement policies and procedures.
  • Assist in annual assessments of procurement personnel.
  • Ensure that regulatory bodies acquire proper documentation in all matters where documentation is needed.
Compliance Officer (Chicago Area) Job Requirements:
  • A minimum of a four year degree from an accredited institution.
  • A Master’s degree, law degree, or CPA certification would be strongly preferred for this job.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in a senior role working with contracts and regulations.
  • Experience performing reviews of sub-contracts.
  • Proven history of policy writing and auditing.
  • Good Leadership skills.
