The Chicago Sales engineer will handle supplier and OEM accounts. The Sales Engineer will expand sales with current customers while also establishing relationships with new sales prospects. - The Chicago Sales Engineer will coordinate with the sales manager to forecast sales regularly and establish a strategy for the upcoming month.
- Work closely with customers in order to learn their needs and be able to predict urgent needs.
- Pursue new business through working with sales and engineering to provide customers with unique and competitive solutions.
- The Chicago Sales Engineer will visit clients on site and host client visits to establish a strong relationship and knowledge of the customer.
- Develop, organize, and deliver presentations to clients on potential product solutions.
- Serve as a point of contact for the customers.
- Interface between the customers and the engineering team to re-work and improve products to their specifications and satisfaction.
- The Chicago Sales Engineer will work closely with purchasing and sourcing staff to acquire appropriate and cost effective materials for new products.
- The Sales Engineer will work with the sales team to develop marketing strategies for new products.

Sales Engineer (Chicago Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree from an accredited institution in an engineering or business field.
- Four to seven years of automotive experience.
- Strong sales experience.
- Three years of technical or engineering experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiar with Microsoft office suite of software, Outlook, excel, powerpoint, etc.
- Understanding of automotive OEM sourcing.
- Able to build strong relationships with personnel top to bottom in an organization.
- Exceptional presentations skills, able to make strong persuasive pitches.
- Comfortable working in a cross-functional team.
- An exceptional level of technical aptitude and understanding of technical principles.
