Syracuse Project Manager Overview:

The Syracuse, New York area Project Manager will be responsible for following a project through the entirety of its lifecycle from the initial meetings with clients to the on-time completion. The Project Manager will have a deep knowledge of door, frame and hardware applications as they relate to UL, fire code, building code, ADA, life safety and other restrictions that relate to the general commercial construction industry. This job requires the ability to multitask and handle all types of scopes of projects with great attention to detail. The Project manager will accurately detail and schedule materials and verify product costs to determine the best product selections. Enter the costs during the scheduling process and compare to the estimated costs. It is the responsibility of the Project Manager to Review the schedules and submittals for any errors or options that can affect the project prior to sending the job out for approval.

Syracuse Project Manager Job Opening

Mechanical Design Engineer Job Opening Chicago

Job opening for a Mechanical Design Engineer in the Chicago area.

This position is responsible for developing complex designs in conformance with company standards and customer or marketing specifications. Responsibilities include aiding in the development of products, design specs for various promotion activities and intricate project design assignments. It is important to correspond with various clients and other organizations for this role. Candidates in this position must have strong design abilities coupled with an aptitude to achieve scheduling, budget and quality objectives.

Core Competencies Required: 

Skills: 

  • Must have strong mechanical design skills with an ability to read and layout mechanical blueprints.
  • Knowledge of machine systems is essential.
  • Must have strong knowledge of machine tooling and design.
  • Experience illustrating complex machine assemblies is a big plus.
  • Experience with Computer Aided Design systems is essential with understanding of 3-Dimensional Solid Modeling preferred; CATIA experience also is a plus.
  • Should have knowledge of GD&T per ANSI Y14.5.
  • Should have strong mathematical proficiency, not excluding algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus/analytic geometry.
  • Basic understanding of FEA methods is a plus.

Education: 

  • A 4-year Engineering degree is required

Experience: 

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design required.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Create new designs to meet client and marketing specifications.
  • Corresponds with supervisors to uphold project schedules and budgets.
  • Assists other functional organizations; manufacturing, assembly, customer service, throughout the product’s lifecycle.
  • Possible responsibility for testing and validation of different designs.
  • Develop specifications for purchased equipment.
  • Arrange ENOC’s and the Bill of Materials.
  • Upholds technical competency and furthers technical proficiencies and experience.
  • Validate complex drawings created by peers.
  • This position involves some travel.
