- The Detroit Program Manager will oversee the program from cradle to grave and ensure that all requirements are met.
- Establish metrics and meet appropriate levels in those metrics to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Develop benchmarks for the program, assign staff to given tasks, maintain morale, manage disagreements, and maintain accountability to ensure that the program is successful and on time.
- The Detroit Program Manager will keep key program document readily accessible and updated, especially the statement of work, a list of open issues, a program timeline, and monthly reports.
- Develop a timeline for all internal and external program benchmarks and deliverables.
- Provide assistance to the manufacturing team through meetings, production builds, and customer reviews.
- Develop plans and work with appropriate staff to meet and surpass manufacturing and quality metrics.
Program Manager (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree in a field related to business or engineering from an accredited university.
- At least 7 years of automotive program management experience.
- Proven history of managing costs for a program.
- Able to identify and meet customer needs in an effective manner.
- Experience with metal and plastics manufacturing for automotive applications.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Lean Six Sigma training and certification would be preferable for this job.
- Familiarity with analyzing key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement.
- Exceptional organizational skills, able to reach benchmarks and deadlines for a multitude of tasks concurrently.
- Strong leadership abilities, able to motivate and develop a staff.
