Detroit Regional Director of Operations Overview:
The Regional Director of Operations will primarily be responsible for the regional manufacturing operations and will ensure that resources are in place for maximum efficiency of processes while working out of Detroit, Michigan. The Detroit Regional Director of Operations will also be looked at for continuously improving processes using specifically Lean Manufacturing ideologies to make sure process flows are intact. Detroit Regional Director of Operations Job Opening
- The Regional Director of Operations will develop strategic plans to ensure that critical milestones of the organization are achieved. These plans include:
- Product manufacturing
- Operational development
- And continuous improvement to the overall status of manufacturing.
- Look to reduce costs, improve process/product flow, and eliminate redundant processes while working with regional contacts.
- The Regional Director of Operations will develop long-range strategies for manufacturing to meet and/or exceed business plans for the future.
- Focus on the importance of “Return of Inventory” with the supply chain department looking at inventory management and asset utilization.
- The Regional Director of Operations will define and develop short-term and long-term objectives for each facility, while supporting budget requests and estimates.
- The Regional Director of Operations will optimize costs, inventory, and equipment of manufacturing operations between multiple plants.
- Provide assistance when needed for sales to customer product support and product improvement introductions.
- The Regional Director of Operations will always guarantee legal compliance and ensure operations-wide compliance with all federal regulations programs including:
- Environmental health and safety
- Affirmative action programs
- EEO regulations
- FMLA
- ADA
- Look to maintain a positive employer-employee relationship and promote intensity and high levels of moral.
- Accountable for the empowerment of members of the organization to implement all quality procedures and practices.
- Build robust, efficient and cooperative teams within the organization.
- Mentor facility managers as well as other functional departments, when assigned.
- Other duties will be assigned when needed by the supervisor.
Regional Director of Operations (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management and/or engineering or a discipline related to these.
- At least 5 years of job experience managing operations in a manufacturing environment including a proven record of leading profitable operations.
- At least 10 years of job experience.
- Any experience involving supply chain management departments.
- Some experiences specifically looked for are; quality management, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement.
- Exceptional communication skills including verbal, written, and interpersonal with an ability to relate to employees below and above the position.
- An ideal candidate will preferably have:
- Master of Business Administration.
- Experience in automotive supplying.
- Operation leadership job experience across nations.
- Experience working in a unionized workforce.
- Travel could require around 50% of time working.
