Detroit Applications Lab Manager Job Opening

  • The Applications Lab Manager must lead the project management of the lab activity and keep a log book that tracks the team and equipment used on each project and the time table the project needs to be completed within.
  • Hold teams accountable to the deadlines and communicate any modifications to the time table and delays to all stakeholders.
  • The Applications Lab Manager will serve as a the point of contact for the sales team and customers to assist in delivering accurate quotes, communicating results, and resolving technical issues.
  • Evaluate and approve projects before they are taken up by teams to ensure the project is feasible for the given application.
  • The Applications Lab Manager will lead the team in technical direction when issues arise at the Detroit, Michigan plant.
  • Handle all technical and professional coaching for the Detroit applications lab staff as necessary.
  • The Applications Lab Manager will perform all administrative function such as approving time cards, reviewing employee performance, and all other paper work.
  • Recognize opportunities for on-site visits and training with customers and organize them.
  • Work with engineering, manufacturing, and customer service as necessary as machines are commissioned, installed, or serviced.
  • Partner with the technical innovation and sales teams to develop new products.

Applications Lab Manager (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
  • A 4-year degree in engineering, technology, or equivalent work experience working in an applications or engineering job.
  • A minimum of five years job experience working with lasers, optics, or material processing.
  • Minimum of five years job experience working in a lab.
  • Two years of job experience managing or leading a team.
  • A demonstrated history of project management.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% outside of Detroit, Michigan, including overseas.
  • Exceptional knowledge of industrial laser products.
  • Thorough understanding of tooling, tolerancing, and fixturing.
  • Previous job experience working directly with customers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally with colleagues and customers.

Detroit Program Manager Overview:

The Detroit Program Manager will lead programs from the planning and development phase and through the launch and post launch activities. This job will require candidates be able remain organized on on schedule by prioritizing and delegating tasks that need to be completed. The Detroit Program manager will work with a large and fluid staff and will report to the Director of Program Management for this job.

Detroit Program Manager Job Opening

  • Schedule, plan, and lead all PDT meetings. Keep minutes, track open issues, review letters of intent, purchase orders, etc.
  • The Detroit Program Manager will ensure that the program remains on schedule and that progress is communicated to appropriate personnel. Establish productivity milestones, prepare all associated reports.
  • Direct and monitor the work of all program team members.
  • The Detroit Program Manager will support production plant facilitation, production readiness, and launch support as well as other activities as necessary.
  • Serve as the single point of customer contact for any issues related to the program.
  • The Detroit Program Manager shall plan and implement program and/or product changes.
  • Lead and directly oversee value analysis and value engineering activities within the program. Identify possibly areas for cost reduction and make necessary changes.
  • Maintain files and documentation about the program to verify deliverables and milestones.
  • The Detroit Program Manager will provide direction and guidance to staff on the project as necessary.
  • Interface with other Program Managers to share ideas and methods periodically.
  • Perform necessary duties as directed by the director of program management.
Program Manager (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
  • A four year degree in a field related to business or engineering from an accredited institution.
  • At least four years of Automotive Tier One program management experience would be beneficial for this job.
  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft office suite of programs.
  • A demonstrated history of leadership.
