We are seeking a Director of HR to provide strategic leadership across human resources and environmental, health, and safety functions while supporting organizational growth and operational excellence. This executive leadership role is responsible for developing and implementing people strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, fostering a positive workplace culture, and driving talent development across the organization. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with extensive HR management experience, strong business acumen, and a passion for building high-performing teams.
Position Responsibilities
Human Resources Strategy
- Develop and implement human resources strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Partner with executive leadership to support business growth and workforce planning.
- Establish and maintain HR policies, programs, and best practices across the organization.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Development
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, succession planning, and employee retention initiatives.
- Develop leadership development and organizational training programs.
- Support performance management and employee career growth.
Employee Relations & Organizational Culture
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance workplace culture.
- Provide guidance on employee relations, conflict resolution, and workplace policies.
- Promote employee engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.
Environmental, Health & Safety Leadership
- Oversee workplace safety and environmental compliance programs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Partner with operational leaders to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, labor regulations, and company policies.
- Oversee HR audits, investigations, and risk management initiatives.
- Manage HR systems, records, and confidential employee information.
Compensation & Benefits
- Oversee compensation, benefits, and total rewards programs.
- Evaluate market trends to maintain competitive compensation strategies.
- Support budgeting and workforce planning initiatives.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Lead, mentor, and develop HR and EHS teams.
- Analyze workforce metrics to drive strategic decision-making.
- Implement process improvements that enhance organizational effectiveness and employee experience.
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience managing HR teams.
- Experience supporting multi-site operations in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, labor regulations, compensation, benefits, and employee relations.
- Experience leading organizational development, succession planning, and talent management initiatives.
- Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to travel as business needs require.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- PHR (Professional in Human Resources)
- SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources)
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP
- OSHA Safety Certification
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement Certification
