We are seeking a Process (WCM/Lean) Engineer to drive optimization and continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing operations. This role focuses on analyzing processes, implementing solutions to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput, and supporting teams through training, mentoring, and best practices in World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and Lean methodologies.
Position Responsibilities
Process Optimization & Improvement
- Analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for efficiency and quality improvements
- Implement solutions using data-driven analysis, including Six Sigma and statistical process control methods
- Conduct root cause analysis to resolve operational issues and prevent recurrence
WCM/Lean Program Support
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects
- Provide guidance, training, and support on WCM tools and methodologies to plant teams
- Track and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to WCM initiatives
- Serve as a 5S Plant Champion and support facility-wide 5S initiatives
Collaboration & Documentation
- Develop and maintain process control strategies and standards
- Thoroughly document all process changes, improvements, and findings
- Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, tool room, facilities, finance, and customer service teams to ensure clear communication and knowledge transfer
Mentorship & Training
- Mentor colleagues to take ownership and use WCM tools/methods in daily work
- Assist in identifying and prioritizing cost deployment projects
- Support the site WCM pillars as required, including People and EHS initiatives
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- 4+ years’ experience in an engineering role within a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with WCM, Lean Manufacturing, or Continuous Improvement
- Strong technical judgment, project leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of engineering principles and commitment to safety and compliance
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- WCM or Lean Manufacturing certifications
- Six Sigma or continuous improvement certifications
