We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to support and enhance our client’s manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining product quality standards, implementing quality systems, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires a proactive professional with strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of quality tools and methodologies, and the ability to collaborate effectively across production, engineering, and management teams.
Position Responsibilities
Quality Control and Assurance
- Oversee inspection processes to ensure products meet customer and internal specifications.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality procedures in alignment with ISO and AS standards.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections, ensuring nonconformances are documented and resolved.
- Support the calibration and maintenance of inspection tools and equipment.
Process Improvement and Root Cause Analysis
- Perform root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify areas for process improvement.
- Develop and implement solutions that improve consistency, reduce scrap, and enhance efficiency.
- Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other quality tools to monitor key performance indicators.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate quality records and documentation.
- Prepare quality reports and metrics for leadership review.
- Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Support supplier quality activities, including incoming material inspections and supplier evaluations.
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Experience with quality management systems such as ISO 9001 or AS9100.
- Proficiency in quality tools such as FMEA, PPAP, 8D, and SPC.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Certifications (Preferred, but Not Required)
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor
- OSHA or Safety Certification
