We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Plant Manager to lead all aspects of manufacturing operations, driving excellence in safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement. The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented leader capable of developing strategic plans, ensuring operational efficiency, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This role requires strong leadership, sound business judgment, and the ability to inspire a diverse workforce to achieve organizational goals.

Position Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

Lead and oversee all plant operations, including production, materials management, engineering, quality, and safety.
Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
Ensure that production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of safety and environmental compliance.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive accountability across teams to achieve operational targets.

People Management and Development

Build and maintain a strong, motivated workforce through effective leadership, coaching, and employee engagement.
Oversee workforce planning, performance management, and succession planning for key roles.
Foster an inclusive, positive work environment that supports collaboration and professional growth.
Partner with HR to ensure consistent employee relations and compliance with policies and regulations.

Financial and Strategic Planning

Develop and manage plant budgets, including cost control and capital investment planning.
Analyze financial performance to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
Participate in strategic operations planning and contribute to long-term business objectives.
Ensure plant profitability through effective utilization of resources and continuous improvement initiatives.

Safety, Quality, and Compliance

Champion a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across all plant operations.
Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Maintain quality systems that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Lead initiatives to improve workplace safety, reduce incidents, and achieve operational excellence.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation

Drive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to enhance efficiency and eliminate waste.
Lead process improvement projects focused on achieving sustainable performance gains.
Encourage innovation and the use of technology to optimize manufacturing processes.
Standardize best practices across departments to achieve operational consistency.

Prerequisites

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
10+ years of progressive operations experience in a manufacturing environment.
5+ years in a leadership role with direct responsibility for managing teams.
Proven experience leading unionized workforces is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of P&L management, cost accounting, and capital budgeting.
Demonstrated success in improving operational efficiency, safety, and quality performance.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Certifications (Preferred, but Not Required)

Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green or Black Belt)
Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
Project Management Professional (PMP)
OSHA or Environmental Safety Certification
