We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations and ensure the plant runs efficiently, safely, and reliably. This role oversees maintenance activities, supervises staff, and drives initiatives that minimize downtime, optimize productivity, and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, technical, and problem-solving skills, with experience managing maintenance teams and improvement projects in a manufacturing environment.
Position Responsibilities
Environmental, Health & Safety Oversight
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, policies, and standards.
- Promote and teach safety systems such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), permits to work, and safety audits.
- Conduct and ensure completion of regular safety audits and equipment inspections.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards following 5S systems and enforce safety rules and practices.
People Management
- Lead and develop the maintenance team to foster a culture of trust, empowerment, and collaboration.
- Mentor, train, and manage the Maintenance Supervisor and support development of technicians and staff.
- Oversee staffing activities, including scheduling, timesheet approvals, and overtime management.
Budget & Inventory Management
- Manage the Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) budget to ensure financial targets are met.
- Monitor department expenses, labor hours, and payroll to maintain cost efficiency.
- Oversee spare parts inventory to ensure availability for maintenance needs.
Project Management & Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to enhance equipment reliability and operational performance.
- Lead or participate in capital projects (CAPEX) and cross-functional initiatives.
- Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective measures for recurring maintenance issues.
- Support data-driven decisions by preparing reports, metrics, and reliability analyses.
- Stay informed on advancements in maintenance technology and best practices.
Prerequisites
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred.
- 10 years of maintenance supervisory experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.
- 10 years of hands-on maintenance experience (mechanical and electrical).
- 3 years of experience managing CAPEX projects.
- 5 years of experience managing department budgets.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP software.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- OSHA Safety Certification.
- Maintenance Management or Reliability Engineering Certification.
- Lean or Six Sigma Certification.
