We are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Engineering to lead all aspects of engineering operations and innovation. This role requires a visionary leader who can align engineering initiatives with business objectives, foster a culture of technical excellence, and guide a multidisciplinary team toward continuous improvement and innovation. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, deep technical expertise, and a proven ability to manage complex engineering programs from concept to execution.
Position Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the engineering department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Develop and implement long-term engineering strategies to support product development, process optimization, and operational excellence.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the engineering team.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to define and execute the company’s technology roadmap.
Project and Process Management
- Oversee the planning, design, and execution of engineering projects across multiple disciplines.
- Ensure that all engineering deliverables meet established performance, safety, and quality standards.
- Establish and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Implement standardized processes and best practices for project management and technical documentation.
Technical Excellence and Innovation
- Drive the adoption of new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance engineering capabilities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, ensuring continuous learning and skill development.
- Lead initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes, improve product performance, and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and internal quality protocols.
Collaboration and Communication
- Partner closely with Operations, Product Development, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure cohesive execution of engineering projects.
- Communicate engineering strategies, progress, and results effectively to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration to accelerate innovation and improve efficiency.
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive engineering experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven ability to manage complex engineering projects and cross-functional teams.
- Strong background in manufacturing, product design, or process engineering.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated success in driving operational improvements and implementing innovative engineering solutions.
Certifications (Preferred, but Not Required)
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green or Black Belt)
- Certified Engineering Manager (CEM)
