We are seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee daily operations across production, quality, and project management functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing leadership, a hands-on management style, and the ability to ensure that operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, strategic oversight, and people management to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Position Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee and coordinate production, quality, and project management activities to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Support supervisors, foremen, and department leads in improving manufacturing processes and asset utilization.
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency across all departments.
- Identify and address operational bottlenecks through effective communication and proactive problem-solving.
Performance Management
- Monitor and evaluate key metrics related to cost, quality, and service delivery.
- Implement effective scheduling strategies to improve lead times and meet customer expectations.
- Foster employee engagement and retention by providing coaching, feedback, and growth opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S and Lean Manufacturing.
Customer and Business Development
- Serve as the primary point of contact for new and existing customers.
- Research and analyze new market opportunities to support business growth.
- Strengthen customer relationships through consistent communication and service excellence.
- Drive initiatives to enhance product quality while minimizing waste and scrap.
Prerequisites
- 5+ years of supervisory or managerial experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of job shop and production operations.
- Proficiency with mills, lathes, and other manufacturing equipment.
- Working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards.
- Proficient in Mastercam, JobBoss, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Journeyman Certification.
- Certified Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineer.
- Secondary education in operations, business, manufacturing, or a related field.
