We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager – Business Unit to lead overall strategy, operations, and growth initiatives. This role requires a proven leader who can balance strategic vision with operational excellence, driving both revenue and profitability while fostering a high-performance culture. The General Manager will be accountable for business performance, client satisfaction, and long-term sustainability.
Position Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the business unit’s strategic vision and objectives.
- Drive growth initiatives and ensure alignment with overall corporate goals.
- Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities to expand the unit’s footprint.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee daily business operations, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
- Develop and implement processes, systems, and controls to maximize performance.
- Monitor KPIs, budgets, and financial metrics to ensure sustainable profitability.
Client & Market Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality products or services that exceed client expectations.
- Act as the face of the business unit at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
Team & Talent Development
- Lead, mentor, and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve excellence.
- Build succession plans and foster leadership development within the organization.
- Cultivate a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
Financial Stewardship
- Manage P&L responsibility for the business unit.
- Drive financial planning, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate governance standards.
Prerequisites
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience, including at least 7 years in a senior general management or business unit leadership role.
- Demonstrated success in scaling operations and driving revenue growth.
- Strong financial acumen with full P&L management experience.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Track record of building high-performing teams and fostering organizational development.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- MBA or Executive Leadership certification.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
- Financial Management or Corporate Strategy certifications.
