We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Sales (Retail Channels) to lead and scale our retail sales operations across national and regional markets. This executive role is responsible for driving top-line revenue growth, expanding market share, and building long-term partnerships within key retail channels. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in sales leadership, team management, and retail channel development, with a proven track record of executing growth strategies that deliver measurable results.
Position Responsibilities
Retail Channel Strategy & Development
- Design and implement a comprehensive retail sales strategy to increase penetration across national and regional retail accounts
- Identify, pursue, and secure new retail partnerships and distribution opportunities
- Monitor trends in the retail sector and adjust plans to remain competitive and responsive
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and inspire the sales team to meet and exceed performance goals
- Establish KPIs, provide coaching and feedback, and support professional development
- Foster a results-driven culture centered on accountability and excellence
Revenue Growth & Forecasting
- Own and deliver against revenue targets, forecasts, and margin goals
- Analyze sales performance and market data to identify opportunities for growth and optimization
- Collaborate with finance, marketing, and operations to align resources with sales goals
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with product development and marketing to align retail offerings with customer demand
- Support merchandising strategies, promotions, and product positioning in retail settings
- Represent the sales team in executive-level meetings and strategic planning initiatives
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred)
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on retail channels
- Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performance sales teams
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills with major retail accounts
- Deep understanding of retail operations, supply chains, and sales analytics
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Sales Leadership or Strategic Sales Management certifications
- Training in retail analytics or category management
- Executive education in leadership or sales strategy
