We are seeking a skilled and motivated Production Supervisor – Night Shift to lead operations during evening shifts. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth production flow, enforce quality standards, support staff development, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role plays a key part in maintaining operational excellence and delivering high-performance results across the production floor.
Position Responsibilities
Shift Leadership
- Lead and manage the night shift team to ensure efficient production operations
- Coordinate with Lead Hands and other Supervisors for smooth shift transitions
- Communicate goals, updates, and company information to the shift team
Quality Assurance
- Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with work instructions
- Report non-conforming products and perform quality checks as needed
- Support a zero-defect culture by reinforcing proper quality practices
Operational Efficiency
- Maintain high levels of equipment uptime and product traceability
- Use the Data Collection System to track production performance and resolve issues
- Collaborate with maintenance staff to minimize downtime and solve technical problems
Staff Training & Safety
- Provide ongoing technical guidance and ensure all team members are properly trained
- Promote and enforce safety standards across the team
- Substitute for staff as needed during breaks or absences
Process & Resource Management
- Ensure raw materials are adequately stocked to meet production schedules
- Propose and support process improvements to enhance productivity
- Work overtime as required to meet production targets
Prerequisites
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of production experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Willingness to work flexible and rotating shifts
- Solid understanding of quality control and safety procedures
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Experience with MRP and/or ERP systems
- Background in production planning, instrumentation, and process control
- 5 years of experience as a Production Supervisor in a manufacturing setting
What the Role Offers
- Salary Range: $78,000 – $85,000
- Annual bonus eligibility of up to 10% of base salary
