We are seeking a dynamic and driven Inside Sales Representative who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences. You’ll play a pivotal role in driving customer satisfaction and business growth through a consultative, solution-focused approach. This is a full-time, non-exempt role with remote work flexibility, offering a chance to grow within a newly created, high-impact division supporting plant and industrial markets.
Position Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Issue Resolution
- Respond promptly and efficiently to customer inquiries via phone, email, and chat
- Demonstrate urgency in resolving issues and prioritizing critical tasks for timely resolution
- Handle customer complaints professionally and empathetically, aiming for positive outcomes
Consultative Selling & Relationship Management
- Engage customers with active listening to understand their goals, challenges, and pain points
- Apply a consultative sales approach with open-ended questions and expert product recommendations
- Identify upselling or cross-selling opportunities that add real value to the customer
Order Processing & Data Management
- Accurately process orders, returns, RMAs, and credit requests in the system
- Maintain up-to-date records in the CRM system, tracking interactions and outcomes
- Stay current on product knowledge and industry trends to offer informed guidance
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work with internal teams to resolve complex issues and ensure seamless service delivery
- Contribute to a team-oriented environment with open communication and collaboration
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
- 1–3 years of customer service or support experience, preferably in a solutions-focused role
- Proven ability to handle high-volume customer interactions efficiently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional listening, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
- CRM experience; adaptability to new tools and processes
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of product applications
- Experience in a mechanical or industrial-related industry
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- ERP experience, particularly Microsoft D365
- 3+ years in inside sales or customer service roles
- Familiarity with AWWA valves, ductile iron pipe, or the waterworks industry
