We are seeking a seasoned and strategic General Manager (GM) to lead and coordinate the execution of complex operational commitments. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of performance obligations and ensuring consistent delivery of service excellence.
The GM must have full operational authority to make local decisions — including those involving subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers — while aligning with broader organizational direction and governance. This role is ideal for a senior leader with deep experience in passenger rail or transportation services who is adept at managing large-scale operations and cross-functional teams.
Position Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
- Direct and coordinate the full execution of contractual obligations
- Ensure adherence to safety, compliance, and quality standards across all operational areas
- Monitor and drive performance metrics, delivering consistent results and improvements
Stakeholder and Vendor Management
- Act as the primary liaison with senior leadership, client executives, and regulatory agencies
- Negotiate and manage relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Resolve high-level issues with autonomy, ensuring service continuity and operational stability
Strategic and Financial Leadership
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to ensure fiscal responsibility
- Identify and implement strategies for efficiency, cost control, and service optimization
- Provide leadership to cross-functional teams, fostering accountability and performance
Prerequisites
- 10+ years of executive or senior-level management experience in the transportation or passenger rail industry
- Proven ability to manage large-scale operations with complex stakeholder environments
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Deep understanding of regulatory, safety, and compliance standards within transportation
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Certified Project Manager (PMP)
- Six Sigma or Lean Management Certification
- FRA or DOT-related operational training certifications
