We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Site Leader to oversee all aspects of a major operational facility, with full P&L accountability and responsibility for production, quality, supply chain, safety, and strategic growth initiatives. This executive role is suited for a transformational leader who can align site operations with global business objectives while fostering a culture of performance, accountability, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of managing large teams and complex operations in industrial or transportation sectors.
Position Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Financial Accountability
- Lead the overall strategy, performance, and profitability of the site
- Ensure alignment with global vision and deliver on sales, orders, profit, and cash targets
- Implement transformation programs to drive operational excellence and cost optimization
- Manage P&L for production, methods, supply chain, testing, commissioning, IT, quality, and EHS
Operational Excellence & Project Execution
- Oversee the execution of high-impact regional projects, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery objectives
- Drive adherence to production schedules, lean manufacturing practices, and continuous improvement efforts
- Lead restructuring and reorganization initiatives with a strong focus on team accountability and timely execution
Team & Site Management
- Direct and support department heads and managers across all functional areas
- Build and maintain a high-performance culture rooted in transparency, teamwork, and results
- Manage labor relations, including coordination with union representatives and HR to maintain productive engagement
- Ensure training, coaching, and development programs align with business needs
Quality, Safety, and Compliance
- Ensure implementation and adherence to site Quality Management Systems
- Maintain high standards of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) and achieve KPI targets
- Oversee audits, legal compliance, ethics, and corporate social responsibility requirements
Stakeholder & Customer Relations
- Act as the primary legal and business representative of the site
- Maintain constructive relationships with customers, project directors, and business development teams
- Identify operational risks and opportunities to support business growth and strategic partnerships
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (mandatory)
- Minimum 20 years of experience in industrial operations, with at least 10 years in executive roles managing large-scale, unionized teams
- Proven expertise in P&L management, lean manufacturing, project execution, and organizational transformation
- Background in Rail, Aerospace, Automotive, Heavy Machinery, or Industrial Technology sectors
- Experience managing operations with 500+ employees and overseeing $1B+ in P&L
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- MBA or Master’s in Business Administration
- Lean Six Sigma Certification
- PMP or Project Management-related certification
- Executive Leadership Development Program credentials
