We are seeking an experienced and strategic Quality and Process Control Manager to lead quality systems and process control initiatives within our client’s vinyl siding production operations. This role is instrumental in reducing the cost of poor quality by developing preventive controls, minimizing process variation, and ensuring compliance with established quality standards. The position collaborates cross-functionally with Manufacturing, R&D, Engineering, Product Management, and other critical functions to achieve operational and quality excellence.
Position Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Own and manage Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) metrics
- Lead root cause analysis and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
- Drive implementation of the Quality Data Management System in MES and create real-time monitoring dashboards
- Lead initiatives in inline process automation and digital transformation
Process Engineering
- Oversee the Process Engineering team to ensure operational excellence through effective process controls
- Design and execute experiments to optimize production processes; manage and present data to leadership and R&D
- Identify and lead cost reduction and process standardization initiatives
- Implement sustainable process improvements, including documentation and visual management systems
Quality Management
- Manage the Quality Assurance function including a Quality Control Supervisor, Quality Technician, and eight Inspectors
- Design, implement, and oversee the Quality Management System to maintain regulatory and internal compliance
- Administer raw material, process, and product audits to ensure conformance to specifications
- Oversee calibration and verification processes for monitoring and inspection equipment
Collaboration & Innovation
- Partner with R&D and Product Management to embed quality standards in new product and process development
- Represent Quality & Process Control in governance meetings related to new systems, products, and process rollouts
- Lead the Change Management process to proactively mitigate quality risks associated with changes
- Stay informed on industry innovations and apply advancements in materials and technology
Documentation & Training
- Develop and maintain local standard work documentation including quality manuals, procedures, and work instructions
- Oversee training and knowledge transfer to ensure consistent understanding and application of quality standards
- Create visual management tools and implement continuous learning initiatives for production teams
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a similar technical discipline – Required
- 10+ years in Quality or Process Engineering within a manufacturing environment – Required
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Six Sigma Green Belt
What the Role Offers
- Salary Range: $120,000 – $145,000
- Bonus Eligibility: 15% of base salary annually, based on company and individual performance
- Total Target Cash Compensation: $127,650 – $203,550 (base + bonus)
- Permanent Placement Fee: 23.00%
