We are seeking a highly skilled Process Controls Engineer with hands-on expertise in PLC controls and ladder logic within a production environment. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives on solving complex automation challenges, improving operational efficiency, and working directly on the plant floor. Candidates must have demonstrable experience with PLC systems and ladder logic programming to be considered.
Position Responsibilities
PLC Programming & Troubleshooting
- Develop, program, and maintain PLC systems for production equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation and control systems on the plant floor
System Optimization
- Analyze existing automation processes to identify inefficiencies and implement control system improvements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through automation upgrades and modifications
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of control systems
- Assist in training plant personnel on control systems and automation best practices
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate documentation of control system designs, modifications, and troubleshooting procedures
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in all control system implementations
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field
- Proven experience with PLC controls and ladder logic programming in a production or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems and industrial communication protocols
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on the plant floor
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Certifications (Preferred, but Not Required)
- Certified Automation Professional (CAP)
- Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Rockwell PLC certification
- OSHA or safety training certifications
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Manufacturing certification
