We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Manager to lead the development and execution of a robust quality management system, with a primary focus on achieving ISO 9001 certification. This individual will be instrumental in building and refining processes from the ground up and will work closely with company leadership to embed quality throughout all operational areas. As an individual contributor reporting directly to the President, the role is ideal for someone who thrives in a small-team environment and is ready to make a significant organizational impact.
Position Responsibilities
ISO 9001 System Development
- Design, implement, and manage quality systems aligned with ISO 9001 standards
- Lead all documentation, training, and internal process audits related to ISO compliance
- Serve as the key internal expert during certification readiness and audits
Quality Control & Final Inspection
- Oversee final product inspections to ensure adherence to company and customer specifications
- Work with production to address quality issues and prevent recurrence
Supplier Quality Management
- Develop and maintain supplier quality standards and evaluations
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve quality concerns and improve supplier performance
Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze quality-related data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Drive corrective and preventive actions based on root cause analysis
Auditing & Compliance
- Perform internal audits to ensure quality processes are being followed
- Prepare for and support third-party audits as required
Prerequisites
- 5+ years of quality management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong experience in building or managing ISO 9001-compliant systems
- Comfortable working independently in a small, fast-paced company
- Strong analytical and documentation skills
- Effective communicator capable of collaborating across departments
- Proficient in root cause analysis, auditing practices, and quality control methods
- Availability to work on-site during regular business hours (approx. 7:30 AM–5:00 PM)
Note: A degree is not required for this role. An engineering degree would be beneficial but is not mandatory.
Certifications (Preferred, but Not Required)
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification
- Six Sigma Certification
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Quality Auditor (CQA)
