We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Injection Process Engineer to join our client’s manufacturing team. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient operation of injection molding machines, particularly in the processing of PVC components. The successful candidate will drive process optimization, support quality assurance, and provide training to technical staff. Position Responsibilities
Process Optimization
Test new or repaired molds to validate the correct settings, and develop or update standard procedures. Implement optimized processes and train operators to follow detailed instructions, aiming to reduce cycle times, improve product quality, and minimize waste.
Inspection & Quality Assurance
Oversee and enhance inspection processes to ensure alignment with quality standards. Analyze data, identify process deviations, and collaborate with teams to implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement.
Troubleshooting
Perform regular tests and inspections to identify injection process issues, material flow concerns, or equipment faults. Conduct root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and coordinate with maintenance teams to maintain equipment reliability.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain up-to-date process documentation including operational controls, process sheets, standard operating procedures, and machine settings. Work with cross-functional teams to boost process efficiency and support improvement initiatives.
Safety and Compliance
Ensure strict adherence to safety procedures in mold and equipment handling. Maintain compliance with all regulations, identify workplace hazards, and support a clean and organized environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Prerequisites
- Mandatory Education: Complete High School Diploma
- Desirable Education: Associate Degree or higher in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field
- Desirable Experience:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in injection molding, especially with PVC
- Familiarity with various injection molding equipment and tooling systems
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in operating, setting, and troubleshooting injection molding machines
- In-depth knowledge of PVC processing
- Ability to read technical drawings and machine manuals
- Understanding of molding parameters including:
- Closing (locking force, pressure, speed, and position)
- Mold protection (pressure and position)
- Injection settings (speed, pressure, steps, shot size)
- Hold (time, pressure, position)
- Ejector and core systems
- Alarms monitoring
- Cooling and suck-back timing
- Back pressure and charge positions
Certifications (Preferred, not required)
- Injection Molding Technician Certification
- Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma Certification
