Chicago Vice President of Purchasing Overview:

The Vice President of Purchasing is responsible for the acquisition of all directly and indirectly sourced material including the purchasing of all raw materials, supplies and other parts needed for the production of finished goods. This job will direct the activities of both the corporate and plant purchasing teams in Chicago. The Vice President of Purchasing will also assist in the design and implementation of a new global procurement strategy that will reflect the corporate values, practices, and policies of the company. This job will be expected to excel in the areas of development and application of procurement metrics, organizational leadership, staff development, procurement resource management, and management of supplier relationships.

• The Vice President of Purchasing is responsible for creating technical objectives with a concrete plan of actions down to the procurement and sourcing strategy level based on a strong understanding of business logic.
• This job is responsible for providing leadership in the Chicago area facilities to the operations team dealing with product management, general procurement, and cost reduction targets.

• This job requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a technical, business, finance or related field of study.
• The Vice President of Purchasing must have evidence of substantial business knowledge but will be most desirable with a master’s degree in business administration.
• This job requires a minimum of 12 to 15 years of experience and progression in managing procurement, sourcing, and purchasing functions and departments.
