Chicago Senior Procurement Administrator Overview:
The Senior Procurement Administrator will acquire materials or equipment to fulfill complex and unique product requirements. This position will require acquiring highly expensive, technical equipment to fulfill a number of project needs. The Senior Procurement Administrator will interface with internal customers, lab personal, subcontractors, and federal departments to ensure that all materials are acquired in accordance with appropriate rules and regulations.
Chicago Senior Procurement Administrator Job Opening:
- Chicago Senior Procurement Administrator will acquire unique and exceptionally technical materials, equipment, or services to fulfill the needs of a given project within the facility.
- Coordinate with lab personnel to create subcontracting requirements for the facility.
- Organize meetings with lab personnel to understand the requirements and constraints of projects. Interface with appropriate lab personnel as necessary to ensure expensive materials or equipment fulfill the needs of the project.
- Act as the subject matter expert matters of procurement, and provide support as necessary.
- Research, explore, and select subcontractors. Solicit proposals, ensure the subcontractors are responsive throughout the process.
- Prepare a price and cost analysis for the project to be subcontracted.
- Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts with subcontractors.
- Obtain approval for subcontractor agreements from appropriate personnel.
- Ensure that subcontractor organizations do not conflict with any of the internal and external regulations governing the facility.
- Supervise, direct, and mentor lower level personnel as assigned.
- Ensure that all duties performed are done so in line with all internal and external regulations governing the facility.
- Perform other tasks and functions as directed.
Senior Procurement Administrator (Chicago Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree from an accredited institution, preferably in a business discipline.
- Several years of purchasing or procurement experience.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Proven negotiation skills.
- Experience working with complex regulations and constraints is a beneficial for this position.
- A high level of technical knowledge, or an aptitude for grasping complex concepts.
