Chicago Mechanical Engineer Overview:

The Chicago Mechanical Engineer will participate on projects within the engineering department to develop and improve new and current product lines. The Chicago Mechanical Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager. The Chicago Mechanical Engineer will assist other engineering team members in providing critiques and possible improvements to designs.

Chicago Mechanical Engineer Job Opening:

• The Chicago Mechanical Engineer will develop designs and blueprints of new products as well as improvements for current products.
• Perform engineering projects in a timely manner, seeking assistance from senior engineers when necessary.
• Provide assistance to junior engineers as necessary.
• The Chicago Mechanical Engineer will assist in investigations of mechanical issues.
• Develop alternative designs for projects as necessary.
• Participate and assist in Lean improvement projects within the facility.
• The Chicago Mechanical Engineer will interface with applications and sales staff to share information on customer needs, feedback, and other related information.
• Maintain a high level of knowledge of the company’s products and the related industries.
• Attend conferences, training events, trade shows, and other such activities to maintain professional excellence.

Mechanical Engineer (Chicago Area) Job Requirements:

• Possession of a degree from a four-year university in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
• Three to seven years of experience in a mechanical engineering or related role.
• Excellent understanding of mechanical functions.
• Able to read and convert measurements.
• Excellent mathematical skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Able to work well independently in addition to in a team setting.
