The main function of the Materials Manager job will be to manage warehouse operations, including scheduling and inventory tracking, as well as developing supplier relationships for the Detroit site. The Materials Manager will prepare delivery reports after collecting and analyzing data. The job also entails coordinating between quality assurance, engineering, and assembly teams. The Materials Manager will work to implement cost-saving initiatives at the greater Detroit area site.

Detroit Materials Manager Job Opening:

• The Materials Manager job will develop a cross-functional planning process for the greater Detroit area production site to reduce costs from a logistics standpoint.
• This job requires that a Materials Manager establish a system to monitor supplier performance in addition to maintaining a relationship with the suppliers of the Detroit⁶ area plant.
• The Materials Manager will establish key performance indicators that will be monitored across several aspects of the supply chain operation, from purchasing inventory to tracking shipping and receiving data throughout the Detroit area site.
• The role must use root cause analysis to identify inefficiencies within the warehouse processes and implement creative solutions to those inefficiencies.
• The job will require a candidate that can collaborate with the finance department to develop cost-saving strategies for the Detroit area site.

Materials Manager (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Administration, or Communication preferred, similar work experience in a related field will be considered.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Materials Manager or equivalent experience with Shipping/Receiving, manufacturing, or inventory.
• Six Sigma certification preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills a plus.
