A supplementary role of the Director of Distribution will be to ensure that all logistic and distribution policies and procedures are adhered to within the company’s distribution center. Additionally, he or she will be responsible for supervising and ensuring the cost effective and timely delivery of inventory and product goods. The Director of Distribution will work cross-functionally with several departments within the company including sales and operations to anticipate forecasts and customer needs and to determine their impact on distribution operations. For this job, the Director of Distribution will report directly to a Vice President of Operations and will be tasked with developing tactical strategies and improving the effectiveness of transportation operations.

• The principle role of the Salt Lake City Director of Distribution will be to direct the logistical operations within the company’s distribution center by ensuring customer needs are met, maximizing performance, and accomplishing supply chain objectives.
• Also, he or she will be tasked with overseeing and ensuring the timely and cost-effective transportation of inventory or finished goods.
• In addition, the Salt Lake City Director of Distribution will confirm the distribution center’s compliance to required standards and procedures.
• The Director of Distribution will also be expected to collaborate with several departments including overall operations and sales to identify customer needs and measure the impact they will have on the execution of logistical operations.
• There are frequent travel requirements outside of Salt Lake City, Utah for this job.
• The Salt Lake City Director of Distribution will complete any additionally assigned jobs.

Director of Distribution (Salt Lake City Area) Job Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or supply chain-related field.
• At least ten years of logistical management experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Strong leadership and management abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
