Detroit Michigan Technical Service Representative Overview:
The Technical Service Representative is responsible for technical support of customers and sales personnel in the Detroit region including the proper, effective, and efficient performance of products and implementation of standard operating procedures within auto body shops. This job is responsible for monitoring product use, systems and processes, troubleshoots, initiating problem resolution, and communication within the company and with customer organizations. The job provides customers, sales personnel and end users with product information, technical support, and training. The Technical Service Representative needs to be an expert on all products and processes for the company, able to provide solutions to complex issues, and support customers in addition to regional and territory managers.
Detroit Michigan Technical Service Representative Job Opening
- The Technical Service Representative must visit local shops and provide consultation, trouble shooting, and resolution to shop and product problems.
- The Technical Service Representative monitors tech support phone lines, responds to customer inquiries and administers problem resolution tactics by phone or e-mail.
- The Technical Service Representative plans quick and corrective issue solutions, closes open job orders, and assists with necessary product investigation.
- The Technical Service Representative presents regional managers and territory managers with field-testing and technical support of product problems, documents and reports findings, and communicates the findings with research & development and marketing before assisting with necessary follow up testing.
- The Technical Service Representative is responsible for all special projects as assigned.
Technical Service Representative (Detroit Michigan Area) Job Requirements:
- Must have at least a 2-year technical degree or 4-year bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, marketing, finance or a related field.
- Must have a minimum of three to five years of experience in an automotive body shop.
- Must have prior technical experience in autobody refinishing.
- This job requires familiarity with manufacturing environments and comfort in plant atmospheres.
- Experience working with major, national organizations is preferred.
- This job requires a stable, coherent work history.
