Louisville Manufacturing Engineer Overview:
The Louisville, Kentucky Manufacturing Engineer will design, develop, and improve manufacturing systems within the facility. The Manufacturing Engineer will work with product development staff to create manufacturing systems for product launch. The Manufacturing Engineer will also perform studies on current systems to identify areas where the system could be improved. The Manufacturing Engineer will also be involved in quality investigations, continuous improvement implementations, and safety investigations.
Louisville Manufacturing Engineer Job Opening
- The Louisville Manufacturing Engineer will develop new manufacturing processes as well as improve current processes.
- Partners closely with product development and quality teams to maximize the efficiency of the manufacturing process.
- Takes part in equipment and material selection for new processes.
- The Louisville Manufacturing Engineer will work with quality to rectify issues with the manufacturing system.
- Develop and lead training seminars for technicians during new line launches and modifications to current manufacturing systems.
- Regularly evaluate and re-evaluate manufacturing processes. Identify potential waste, safety hazards, inefficiencies, and other risks.
- The Louisville Manufacturing Engineer will maintain knowledge of new technologies and manufacturing methods in order to keep the manufacturing systems current and cutting edge.
- Take part in continuous improvement activities within the facility as well as leading activities.
- Perform other duties as necessary and directed.
Manufacturing Engineer (Louisville Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree in engineering from an accredited university.
- At least seven years of experience in a manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering role.
- Familiar with manufacturing utilizing rubber and plastic materials.
- A high level of familiarity with AutoCAD software.
- Great mathematical skills.
- A deep understanding of safe manufacturing practices.
- Six Sigma training would be preferred for this job.
- Experience with continuous improvement project implementation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven history of cost saving process improvements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to effectively build relationships with personnel throughout the organization.
- Strong, rational problem solving skills; able to observe, determine facts, and develop unique and creative solutions.
