Detroit Senior Accountant Overview:

The Senior Accountant will be in charge of maintaining records of financial transactions for the company’s locations throughout the United States. This includes but is not limited to general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, monthly balances, audit preparation, and more while working out of the Detroit, Michigan location. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will head up company treasury management. The Senior Accountant will also be assisting in the mentorship and guidance of subordinate accounting professionals. For this job, the Senior Accountant will be reporting to the Corporate Controller and will be a part of the Accounting department.

Detroit Senior Accountant Job Opening

• The primary job of the Senior Accountant will upkeep the general ledger of the company while working out of the greater Detroit, Michigan location.
• For this job, the Senior Accountant will help train and onboard newly hired accounting staff members.
• The Senior Accountant will additionally help prepare tax statements and tax returns as required.
• The Senior Accountant will maintain monthly adjusting entries in journals and excel sheets.
• The Senior Accountant will perform other jobs as assigned by the Corporate Controller.
• There is little travel outside of metro Detroit, Michigan that is required for this job.

Senior Accountant (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting is a requirement for this job.
• A CPA license is preferred for this role, but is not required.
• At least five years of experience in a general accounting field is required.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel is required for this job.
• Knowledge of profit and loss.
