Grand Rapids IT Project Manager Overview:
The IT Project Manager will work as a member of the Project Management Department and will report to the Project Management Director. The IT Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing projects ranging from software implementation projects to improvements to the IT infrastructure within schools. The IT Project Manager will often partner with personnel from the Technology services department.

- The Grand Rapids IT Project Manager will develop, keep, and update as necessary the project plan, communication plan, statement of work, and risk management plans.
- Assign tasks and duties to ensure that the project plan is carried out.
- Lead all team meetings, communicate information on tasks in progress and completed, manage risks, and ensure all tasks are performed within budget.
- The Grand Rapids IT Project Manager closely tracks the project’s progress and will guide discussions to determine necessary actions to get back on track as necessary.
- Meet regularly with project stakeholders to provide information about project status.
- Provide assistance to identify issues, tracking them, and the resolution.
- The Grand Rapids IT Project Manager will keep track of project expenses and ensure expense do not exceed the budget.
- Resolve conflicts in the team.
IT Project Manager (Grand Rapids Area) Job Requirements:
- A four year degree in business administration or a related area from an accredited institution.
- At least three to five years of related experience.
- Experience leading large scale IT projects.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, persuasion, and listening skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to work with on teams with a variety of personalities and backgrounds.
- Familiarity with educational institutions or public institutions is a plus.
- Possession of Project Management Professional certification would be preferred for this
- A demonstrated understanding of SCRUM and Agile methodologies would be preferred for this job.
