The Detroit Cyber Security Manager will oversee the creation and maintenance of the company’s cyber security program. The Detroit Cyber Security manager will analyze the company’s information technology systems to recognize potential threats and hazards, evaluating them, and mitigating any future problems. The Detroit Cyber Security manager will continuously re-evaluate the cyber security system to ensure that information is protected and all data is maintained according to regulations and internal standards.

The Detroit Cyber Security Manager will oversee Information Security and Data Privacy Compliance practices and procedures.
Create and maintain Information Security procedures and policies. Ensure that policies are enforced and procedures are understood.
Plan, organize, and lead or oversee Information Security educational training activities with appropriate staff members.
The Detroit Cyber Security Manager will partner with and advice the Chief Information Officer on matters of IT security.
Provide advice and expertise on necessary IT infrastructure investments, anticipate privacy and security concerns.
Keep track of modification to federal, state, or local regulations on information security, recommend changes in order to meet compliance under modified laws as necessary.
The Detroit Cyber Security Manager will ensure that security is maintained within approved departmental budget.
Communicate concerns or general information regarding IT security in a clear and detailed way that is easily understandable to non-experts.

Cyber Security Manager (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:

A four year degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field from an accredited university.
At least five years of information security experience.
Experience working a similar role for a retail company is preferable.
Excellent reasoning, analytical, and problem solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiar with PCI industry principles and guidelines would be desired.
CISSP, CISM, in addition to other security certifications are highly preferable.
Strong project management skills.
A proven history of protecting IT security while balancing business risks.
Able to explain technological concepts to basic users.
