Detroit Health and Safety Coordinator Overview:
The Detroit Health and Safety Coordinator will ensure that staff within the facility are adequately and appropriately trained. The Health and Safety Coordinator will schedule and lead training to ensure that personnel understand all safety processes and procedures for the overall facility and particular areas. Personnel should understand proper emergency procedures as well as proper safety habits.

- The Detroit Health and Safety Coordinator will administer the facility’s safety and health program.
- Ensure that the facility is compliant with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Create a set of plant safety rules, ensure they are followed throughout the facility.
- The Detroit Health and Safety Coordinator will regularly audit the facility to ensure all areas are compliant with safety rules and regulations.
- Inspect new equipment to identify possible safety hazards.
- Lead or participate in the investigation of accidents within the facility. Develop corrective actions and ensure the safety hazard is rectified.

Health and Safety Coordinator (Detroit Area) Job Requirements:
- A two year degree in industrial safety or a related discipline for an accredited institution or equivalent professional experience.
- At least one to three years of health and safety experience for a manufacturing facility.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and proper industrial safety processes.
- Familiarity with OSHA and DOT regulations.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Team oriented mindset, able to motivate others.
