Charlotte Mechanical Engineer Overview:

The Charlotte Mechanical Engineer will develop electrical schematics, bills of materials, specifications, and technical manuals for machinery and products. The Charlotte Mechanical Engineer will partner with service and assembly departments to ensure electrical systems are properly constructed as well as providing support in troubleshooting systems which are not functioning properly. This position will work closely with project management as well as engineering personnel to provide design assistance. This position reports to the Mechanical Engineering Manager.

The Charlotte Mechanical Engineer will receive, analyze, and understand customer technical documents including design proposals, specifications, and manuals in order to develop feasible designs.
Design systems, particularly controls, instruments, robotics, machines, engines, as well as systems such as thermal, hydraulic, mechanical, and heat transfer.
Partner with engineering staff members to develop test equipment and assist in the creation of test procedures for designed products and systems.

Mechanical Engineer (Charlotte Area) Job Requirements:

A four year degree in a related discipline for an accredited university.
At least two years of experience in a mechanical engineering position or co-operative.
A mix of education and experience will also be considered.
Able to read and understand technical documents such as manuals, safety procedures, as well as technical instructions. Able to communicate technical information to colleagues.
A strong understanding of mathematical concepts, particularly statistical inference and probability, as well as geometry and trigonometry.
A high level of understanding of Autocad, Autodesk inventor, as well as the Microsoft office suite of programs.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
