Madison Manufacturing Engineer Overview:
For this job, the Manufacturing Engineer will need to utilize product and equipment knowledge in order to develop methods of improving the manufacturing process and removing manufacturing waste at the Madison, Wisconsin plant. The Manufacturing Engineer is a champion of lean manufacturing techniques and will need to utilize blow molding productivity and efficiency. The Manufacturing Engineer will additionally need to support process technicians with technical and engineering guidance while working out of Madison. The Manufacturing Engineer will not have any direct reports, but will be a part of the Manufacturing department and will be reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager in Madison, Wisconsin.

- The Manufacturing Engineer must analyze manufacturing processes and utilize knowledge of plastics and blow molding in order to streamline the way that the blow molding department manufactures products.
- For this job, the role researches products, equipment, and materials in order assess the manufacturing process.
- The position adjusts the efficiency of the manufacturing process by examining work flow, floor space plans, and layout of equipment.
- The Manufacturing Engineer will periodically test products and equipment in order to figure out best usages of them.
- The role must conduct reports on production flow and efficiency.
- The position will train and mentor process technicians to improve their work at the Madison plant.
- The Manufacturing Engineer will occasionally visit workshops and seminars to network and research on ways to improve manufacturing processes.
- The role requires a minimal amount of travel outside Madison, Wisconsin.
- The Manufacturing Engineer will pursue any additional tasks as given by the Manufacturing Engineer Manager.
Manufacturing Engineer (Madison Area) Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering is a hard requirement for this job.
- At least 5 years of job experience in manufacturing engineering.
- At east 5 years of job experience in blow molding and plastics.
- Six sigma, kaizen, or kanban job experience is a plus.
