Houston Manufacturing Manager Overview:

The Manufacturing Manager will assist the Director of Operations in getting the Houston, Texas factory established and then oversee a high profile product line for the company. For this job, the Manufacturing Manager will operate an entire value stream for the company. Each factory within the company is run by a Director of Operations. Under that director, the factory is organized into value streams for different product lines. The Houston, Texas Manufacturing Manager will operate one of these value streams as though it were its own small business.

• The Manufacturing Manager will manage the manufacturing value stream for various job orders.
• Identify and meet all staffing needs for the value stream.
• The Manufacturing Manager will maintain the inventory levels of finished goods at the Houston, Texas site.
• Plan and execute all engineering revisions.
• The Manufacturing Manager will manage several direct reports in a number of different teams including but not limited to: shift supervisors (day & night), procurement, manufacturing engineers, quality, and warehouse.
• Ensure all costs in the value stream fall within the budget.
• The Manufacturing Manager will spearhead the improvement process year over year (YOY).
• Ensure that all products meet the highest standards of quality.
• Complete responsibility for the personnel within the value stream including hiring and firing.
• The Manufacturing Manager will utilize the resources of the value stream efficiently, cutting out waste where possible and making improvements where possible.
• Fully responsible for all profit and loss within the value stream but not responsible for aftermarket service products.

Manufacturing Manager (Houston Area) Job Requirements:

• Seven to ten years of manufacturing job experience minimum.
• Four year degree from a college or university preferred for this job.
• Job experience managing a mid-sized to large staff, including supervisors.
• Familiarity in manufacturing precision parts such as medical devices or parts for aerospace.
• Demonstrated ability to be able to operate a small business.
• Exceptional ability to manage several tasks for multiple teams.
• Demonstrated job experience of using creativity skills to solve problems.
• A clear understanding of Lean Six Sigma, preferably some level of training in Lean Six Sigma.
• Past experience with relocations and transitions of product lines would be preferential for this Houston, Texas job.
