We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator with strong expertise in multifamily construction to prepare accurate project estimates, analyze electrical plans and specifications, and develop competitive bids. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders throughout the estimating process.

Position Responsibilities

Estimating & Takeoffs

Review electrical drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project requirements.
Perform detailed material and labor takeoffs for multifamily electrical projects.
Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and bid proposals.
Identify project requirements, exclusions, assumptions, and potential risks.

Bid Preparation

Solicit and evaluate pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
Analyze quotations and compare pricing to ensure competitive and accurate bids.
Develop detailed bid documentation and cost breakdowns.
Assist with value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.

Project Analysis

Review plans for potential design conflicts, discrepancies, and scope gaps.
Evaluate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Maintain accurate estimating data and historical cost information.
Support project teams with budget and cost-related information as needed.

Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other internal teams.
Communicate estimating assumptions, pricing changes, and project risks.
Participate in pre-bid meetings and provide estimating support throughout the bidding process.

Prerequisites

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Several years of electrical estimating experience, preferably with multifamily construction projects.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, materials, and labor requirements.
Experience performing electrical takeoffs and preparing detailed estimates.
Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage multiple bids and meet tight deadlines.

Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)

Certified Professional Estimator (CPE).
Electrical or construction-related certifications.
OSHA certification.
LEED or other construction-related credentials.
Estimating software certifications.
