We are seeking an Aftermarket Product Manager to oversee the development, positioning, and performance of aftermarket products throughout their lifecycle. The ideal candidate will combine product management expertise with strong commercial and analytical skills to identify market opportunities, understand customer needs, and develop strategies that drive product growth and profitability.
Position Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Development
- Develop and execute aftermarket product strategies aligned with business objectives and customer needs.
- Manage products throughout their lifecycle, from market introduction through ongoing optimization.
- Identify opportunities for new products, product enhancements, and portfolio expansion.
- Evaluate market trends, customer requirements, and competitive offerings to guide product decisions.
- Establish product priorities and develop plans to improve product performance and market position.
Market & Customer Analysis
- Conduct market research to identify customer needs, emerging trends, and competitive activity.
- Analyze aftermarket demand, product performance, pricing, and market opportunities.
- Gather and incorporate customer and sales feedback into product strategy.
- Identify opportunities to expand product adoption across existing and new markets.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, engineering, operations, supply chain, and customer service teams.
- Coordinate product launches, updates, and commercialization activities.
- Communicate product requirements and priorities to internal stakeholders.
- Ensure teams have the information and resources necessary to effectively support aftermarket products.
Product Performance & Profitability
- Monitor product sales, margins, inventory, and overall market performance.
- Develop pricing recommendations and support commercial strategies.
- Identify underperforming products and recommend corrective actions.
- Evaluate product profitability and opportunities for cost improvement.
- Prepare product performance reports and present recommendations to leadership.
Product Lifecycle Management
- Maintain accurate product information, specifications, and supporting documentation.
- Review product portfolios and recommend additions, improvements, or discontinuations.
- Support forecasting, inventory planning, and product availability initiatives.
- Ensure aftermarket products remain competitive and aligned with evolving customer requirements.
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Product Management, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in product management, aftermarket operations, product development, or a related commercial function.
- Experience managing products within an industrial, manufacturing, automotive, equipment, or technical environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle management and market analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze sales, market, customer, and financial data.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Product management, project management, or business-related certifications are preferred but not required.
- PMP, Certified Product Manager, or similar credentials are an advantage.
