We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Manager – Midwest to lead business development efforts, strengthen customer relationships, and drive revenue growth across the assigned territory. The ideal candidate will develop strategic sales plans, identify new business opportunities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve sales objectives.
Position Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and growth targets.
- Expand market presence through prospecting, networking, and relationship building.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Understand customer needs and provide tailored product or service solutions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts and ensure customer satisfaction.
Sales Strategy & Planning
- Develop territory plans and sales forecasts.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.
- Recommend strategies to improve market share and sales performance.
Account Management
- Manage customer accounts throughout the sales cycle.
- Prepare proposals, quotations, and contract negotiations.
- Ensure timely follow-up and effective resolution of customer concerns.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with internal teams, including operations, engineering, customer service, and marketing, to ensure successful project execution and customer support.
- Communicate customer feedback to support continuous product and service improvements.
Reporting & Performance
- Maintain accurate sales records, forecasts, and pipeline reports.
- Track sales performance against established goals and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide regular updates to leadership regarding territory performance and market conditions.
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience in business development, territory management, or industrial sales.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Certifications (Preferred, but Not Required)
- Certified Professional Sales Person (CPSP).
- Certified Sales Leadership Professional (CSLP).
- CRM software experience (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
- Training in negotiation, strategic selling, or account management.
