We are seeking a Principal Data Scientist to serve as a hands-on individual contributor focused on advanced analytics, machine learning model development, and technical problem-solving. This role also includes technical coaching responsibilities and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver mission-driven, data-intensive solutions in a manufacturing and industrial technology environment.
Position Responsibilities
Advanced Analytics & Machine Learning Development
- Design, build, and deploy advanced machine learning and AI models for complex industrial use cases.
- Develop predictive and computer vision models to support quality inspection and process optimization.
- Apply statistical and mathematical modeling techniques to solve high-impact business problems.
Industrial Data & Mission-Based Projects
- Support initiatives involving high-volume manufacturing (HVM), IoT, and discrete manufacturing environments.
- Build models for use cases such as defect detection, yield analysis, and quality assessment.
- Contribute to remote operations and monitoring solutions using real-time data streams.
Model Deployment & Cloud Engineering
- Deploy machine learning models into production using cloud platforms and scalable architectures.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure model integration and performance in production systems.
- Support data pipelines, model monitoring, and lifecycle management.
Technical Leadership & Coaching
- Provide technical mentorship and coaching to peers and junior data scientists.
- Share best practices in Python programming, mathematics, and machine learning methodologies.
- Contribute to the development of internal data science standards and frameworks.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to define analytical requirements.
- Translate business and manufacturing challenges into data-driven solutions.
- Communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
- 10–15 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics roles.
- Strong expertise in Python and advanced mathematical/statistical modeling.
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Familiarity with SQL and database systems (Oracle preferred).
- Exposure to programming languages such as Go, Java, C, or C++.
- Experience in manufacturing, IoT, semiconductor, or industrial analytics strongly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Machine Learning or AI certifications.
- Advanced Data Science or Engineering certifications.
