We are seeking a Site Manufacturing Director to lead and manage all manufacturing activities across multiple projects at a production site. This role includes direct leadership over the manufacturing organization, ensuring operational excellence, meeting quality, cost, and delivery objectives, and driving continuous improvement. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the manufacturing function, overseeing industrialization processes, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards. This position requires a strategic leader with a hands-on approach, capable of aligning manufacturing operations with business objectives and fostering a high-performance culture.
Position Responsibilities
Project Manufacturing Management
- Oversee manufacturing activities from TTM (Time to Market) to CGR (Critical Gate Review), ensuring contributions to industrial QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) management.
- Validate supply chain processes, quality plans, and industrialization activities.
- Contribute to EHS risk assessments and ergonomics analysis for manufacturing processes.
- Prepare manufacturing activities including workload planning, staffing, training, and resource availability.
- Oversee handover of industrial processes from engineering to manufacturing.
Manufacturing Execution
- Manage all manufacturing operations from CGR to FQA (Final Quality Approval).
- Drive APSYS (Alstom Production System) deployment within manufacturing.
- Track and improve SQCD performance through KPIs.
- Ensure timely issue management in MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and closure of corrective actions.
- Organize execution of product changes, retrofits, and feedback loops to improve performance.
- Deliver manufacturing REX (Return of Experience) at the end of projects.
Site Manufacturing Leadership
- Manage manufacturing equipment, including investment planning, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), and utilization ratios.
- Contribute to CAPEX optimization and site industrial initiatives, including automation and digitalization projects.
- Ensure continuous performance improvement of manufacturing operations.
- Participate in manufacturing director networks and report manufacturing KPIs to central functions.
- Ensure environmental protection compliance within manufacturing activities.
Team & Resource Management
- Manage time, attendance, and activity tracking for all manufacturing employees in compliance with local legislation.
- Improve occupational safety for all staff and contractors.
- Develop staff capabilities, including product and technology qualifications.
- Ensure adequate resources are available in alignment with production plans.
- Optimize workload distribution within the manufacturing organization.
- Oversee people management processes (PMC) and apply corporate policies for ethics, compliance, and operational standards.
Prerequisites
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an industrial environment.
- Proven leadership experience in manufacturing management.
- Strong background in industrialization, production planning, and resource management.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Desirable Experience
- Background in the railway industry or related industrial sectors.
- Previous operational role in a manufacturing site.
- Experience as a line manager overseeing large teams.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Lean Six Sigma Certification
- PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification
- OSHA/EHS Safety Certification
