We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Plant Distribution Manager to lead and manage the distribution operations within a dynamic, high-volume manufacturing environment. This is a confidential search for a critical leadership role reporting directly to the Director of Operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, warehouse management, and operational leadership, with a demonstrated ability to drive performance, safety, and efficiency across distribution functions.
Position Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
- Manage daily plant distribution operations, ensuring timely and accurate shipment of goods
- Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, inventory control, and supply chain coordination
- Monitor and optimize workflow to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop distribution staff to meet performance and safety standards
- Create staffing plans and schedules to align with production and shipping demands
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards
- Promote a culture of safety and accountability across all shifts
- Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
Data & Reporting
- Analyze operational metrics and generate reports to support data-driven decisions
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to shipping, inventory accuracy, and throughput
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, procurement, and customer service
Prerequisites
- 5+ years of experience in plant, warehouse, or distribution management
- 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial capacity within a manufacturing or logistics environment
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
- Lean or Six Sigma Certification
- OSHA Safety Certification
- APICS, CPIM, or other supply chain/logistics credentials
