A leading manufacturer in the Machinery industry, specializing in high-quality machinery products is looking for a reliable Construction Project Manager to oversee and execute construction projects in a timely and cost-effective manner. As the Construction Project Manager, your responsibilities will include budgeting, organization, implementation, and scheduling of projects.
Construction Project Manager Essential Job Functions:
- Oversee and direct construction projects from start to finish.
- Schedule deliverables and estimate costs after a comprehensive project review.
- Monitor on-site and off-site constructions to ensure compliance with building and safety regulations.
- Make necessary adjustments to the budget when unexpected complications arise.
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
- Select tools, materials, and equipment, and maintain inventory records.
- Ensure contractual conditions are met.
- Provide daily progress reports.
- Plan ahead to prevent and resolve emerging problems.
- Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts, and obtain permits and licenses.
- Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks.
- Ensure adherence to quality construction standards and proper construction techniques.
- Collaborate with clients, supervisors, contractors, and design professionals to address and resolve issues.
- Manage actions required due to delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction sites.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with various stakeholders.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Construction Project Manager Job Qualifications:
- Proven working experience in construction management.
- Experience in constructing manufacturing facilities is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods.
- Expertise in building products, construction details, rules, regulations, and quality standards.
- Thorough understanding of engineering, architectural, and other construction drawings.
- Familiarity with construction management software packages, such as MS Project.
- Ability to plan strategically and see the “big picture.”
- Competence in conflict and crisis management.
- Strong leadership and human resources management skills.
- Excellent time and project management skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (required).
- Minimum of five years of construction experience (required).
- Preferred certification as a Construction Manager by the American Institute of Constructors or Construction Management Association of America.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to traverse and inspect all areas of the job site in various weather conditions, involving walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Potential travel requirements.
- Exposure to typical construction site hazards.
- Availability to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other job site issues.
