Every company has to have a plan, a path, or some grand idea that the leadership team follows in order to ensure that growth continues and the company’s culture is embraced. As we continued to grow in the early 2000’s, we hit a crossroad and had to ask ourselves, “Where are we going?” The short answer was global, and the long answer was how.
During the mid-2000’s and into the economic recession, we told ourselves one thing:
We won’t abandon the manufacturing and supply chain sector.
As it seems, many boutique search firms and executive recruiters jump on whatever sector is hot in order to maximize their revenue streams. As a business-focused company, we understand that at the end of the day it’s about the business making money and reaching its goals.
But we took a different approach.
We didn’t want to hop on the bandwagon of certain technology subsets or run into the finance and mortgage industry during the real estate boom. As manufacturing started to leave the country, many executive search firms and recruiters changed their desks to different specialties, while we refused to. We hunkered down and continued to build our networks composed of manufacturing executives, manufacturing engineers, supply chain professionals and manufacturing technology professionals with experience in SAP, QAD, Plex, Industrial Automation, and beyond.
JMJ Phillip Executive Search has always believed that manufacturing would return to the states. With manufacturing costs soaring across the pond and supply chains eating into the margins companies gain by manufacturing overseas, we are now seeing the manufacturing renaissance happen. We have been saying for more than a decade that “companies will manufacture where they sell” and now pushing past 2015, we are embracing the return of manufacturing.
JMJ Phillip will continue to be the one true believer in manufacturing, and as we continue our growth globally we plan to remain the #1 Manufacturing Executive Search Firm in North America.
